President of the South Australian Touch Association Mr Darren Ball and the Treasurer Mr Jarrod Millhouse signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Touch Football Australia on Wednesday 11 April 2007 that will guide the concerned parties in managing the liquid funds of the organisation after dissolution. The purpose of the MOU is to form a committee made up of members from the SA community (via the State Council) and the TFA in order to manage the liquid assets left after the dissolution of SATA. The expenditure of these assets is controlled by rules within the MOU and centres on the SATA Strategic Plan and the ongoing TFA Strategic Plan. The document has been drafted over the past 6 months by Darren Ball, Gavin Macdonald and the TFA Legal Consultant Miss Mel Mallam in consultation with the entire Executive and other independent parties. This document is a landmark in the process and shows the benefits and relationships that the unification model can present. The signing of the MOU now allows the South Australian Touch Association to physically begin the steps towards dissolution which will consist of a few key events. The most important of these events are the two Special General Meetings that will be required. Touch Football South Australia will be sending information to all Affiliate Presidents with details of what is required. Outside of this TFA, TFA SA Office Staff, the Executive and the newly formed State Executive Council will be working behind the scenes to ensure that every possible contingency is checked and carried out on time.
