first_img WhatsApp WhatsApp Pinterest By admin – January 10, 2018 OHS clerk and student exchanged explicit text messages Elyssa Zuniga An Odessa High School clerk was charged Tuesday after reportedly engaging in an improper relationship with a 17-year-old student involving sexually explicit texts, an OPD press release stated.The clerk, 26-year-old Elyssa Zuniga, and the male student reportedly sent messages describing performing oral sex on each other, and further messages stating they want to have sex with each other, the probable cause affidavit said.Both parties also reportedly sent messages making reference to keeping their relationship a secret, the report detailed.Following the initial reported accusation, both Zuniga and the student were interviewed by detectives, and both confirmed the text messages sent between them, the affidavit stated.Zuniga was then charged with improper relationship between educator and student, a second-degree felony, the release said.OPD Spokesman Cpl. Steve LeSueur said while Zuniga was not employed as a teacher at OHS, the charge would still apply to her, as she was an OHS employee.Zuniga was placed on administrative leave during the investigation, and was fired upon being charged, Ector County Independent School District Spokesman Mike Adkins said.Jail records show Zuniga was taken to the Ector County Detention Center Tuesday and is still being detained there with a bond set at $50,000.
