On Thursday 17th May, DOMFESTA takes you to Tiffany’s for a spectacular display of some of the best contemporary artwork from accomplished and promising artists including Earl Etienne, Robbi Lalonde, Susan Weekes and Ellingsworth Moses. Twenty year old Ray Francis is the featured artist for Thursday’s exhibition. A self-taught artist, Francis has been painting since his toddler years. He paints with water-based materials (acrylic and watercolours) on canvas and graphite / pencil on paper. With recent exhibits at Creole in the Park and the annual Ross University Art Show, Francis has quickly made a name for himself in Dominica as a talented artist with a bright future. Over the years, his sculpted surrealism paintings and highly realistic drawings have received significant attention from art aficionados and novices alike. Francis’ avant-garde paintings are reflective of years of personal study and skill development. The common thread for all of the work on display is Francis’ fascination with art which engage and stimulate the senses and emotions. The show opens to the public on Thursday 17th May at 6:30 pm, and will continue until Friday 15th June, 2012. Ray Francis and Tiffany Burnett-Biscombe will both be available for interview at the event.Tiffany’s Art Gallery is located on the Canefield Highway, opposite National Bank of Dominica’s Canefield branch.Press Releaselast_img
