Finland defeats Sweden 6-3 at U17s off four goal effort from Eeli Tolvanen

first_imgEeli Tolvanen had a game to remember this afternoon for Finland as they defeated Sweden to close out their preliminary round games. Tolvanen found the back of the net four times including two on the power play as Finland won the game 6-3.The Finns jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first as they controlled most of the play. They also had a 12-7 advantage in the shots.Finland increased their lead to three just 24 seconds into the middle frame. Overall the period was more balanced between the clubs, but Finland was still out in front after 40 minutes by a score of 5-2.- Advertisement -The teams traded goals in the third to round out the scoring.Finland currently has the inside track on second place in group B pending the result of Canada red and Russia this evening. Should Canada win, Canada and Finland would claim the top two spots respectively.
